Welcoming four new professors to the consortium

We are excited to welcome four new professors to our consortium: Alex Hernandez-Garcia, Sarath Chandar, Sébastien Lemieux, and Michal Koziarski. Their expertise spans computational biology, deep learning, bioinformatics, and systems biology–all crucial fields that will strengthen our efforts in AI-accelerated antimicrobial resistance research.

Alex Hernandez-Garcia (Université de Montréal / Mila) specializes in developing computational methods for understanding microbial genomics and antimicrobial resistance mechanisms, with a focus on applying AI to improve pathogen detection and interpretation of complex biological data. Sarath Chandar (Polytechnique Montréal) specializes in deep learning and representation learning, advancing AI-driven discovery. Sébastien Lemieux (Université de Montréal) is an expert in bioinformatics and transcriptomics, integrating multi-omics data for biological insights. Michal Koziarski (The Hospital for Sick Children – SickKids) contributes expertise in systems biology and molecular microbiology, with applications to antimicrobial research and synthetic biology.

We look forward to the valuable contributions these new members will bring to our collaborative research.
